Gene George and Brodie Hubbard are back in the Shakeytown studios 10 years later making new episodes, and this one covers a lot of pop culture and politics, plus good ol' complaining and smack talking. A glimpse at MADAME WEB, SUSPIRIA (2018), POSSESSION, and LORDS OF SALEM, asking are gory movie fans bad people (and other reductive film criticism), issues in reality TV and ADR, having fun with bad and absurd movies, and then a detour into surprisingly enjoying sports, and then a 700 Club reference leads to a State of the Union. Also, when bad bosses die or get fired, and finally, we love Dr. Peter Weller (ROBOCOP, 1987).

Ten years since the last episode? What happened? Gene and Brodie talk about that a little bit. Also... disavowing the previous episodes and their guests, who stayed in L.A. and who moved away to save their own life, ups and downs in both career and creative pursuits, why only horror show Scaredycast gets to open their mouths in thumbnails, the ways that podcasting, YouTube, & social media have changed in the last decade, and what's next for the boys (well, not boys, but middle-aged white cishet men - just the demographic we need to hear from in these trying times).

Shakeytown at Eastside Zine Market!
Tuesday Dec 10, 2013
Tuesday Dec 10, 2013
Daisy Noemi and BFH visit the Hazard Park Armory for Eastside Zine Market, which we previewed with Adam Bernales and Yumi Sakugawa in our previous episode. The adventure that ensues is not unlike that old Choose Your Own Adventurebook where our heroes find themselves in Ultima. With Yumi at their side and with the help of trusted Bianca Barragan, they talk with old friends and new - Red Velvet ("Catherinette" zine), Marie ("Things and Such"), MariNaomi (previously), Carrie McNinch ("You Don’t Get There From Here"), Jen Venegas (“She’s Not A Morning Person,” SkinnedKnees.net), Brittany and Taylor from Cardio Arts, Sara from Freeways Collide, Jared Sams ("SPACEMANDead"), Robert and Amanda from Two Flints, and Sam, Hannah, and Cat from Buttonwillow Comics. Also, featuring the music of Ms. Shapen Figures.
How do you start a podcast with Ian MacKaye and end with Ke$ha? Will Daisy sew her heart out in time? How many names and words will BFH mispronounce and transpose? We answer these questions and more, plus Bianca reveals the secret of the universe. (DO NOT GIVE AWAY THE ENDING OF THIS SHAKEYTOWN RADIO!)
